AvaTrade Partner Code 128979: What Actually Happens When You Use It

Someone asks me about partner codes every couple of weeks. Always the same thing: do they give you free trades or discounted spreads?

No. AvaTrade has no commission on forex trades. You pay the spread. That's the cost. A partner code has no impact on spreads.

Code 128979 unlocks the deposit bonus. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. Nothing more complicated than that.

What's the bonus amount?

$1,000 deposit adds $200.

Deposit $2,000 for $400 bonus.

Deposits between $5,000 and $9,999 get $1,000.

Deposit $100,000+ and you can get up to $14,000. Not many traders reach that level.

UK traders funding in pounds start at £160 on £800. Goes to £11,200 at the top.

Minimum to open an account is $100. But you need $1,000 to qualify for bonus.

The code field isn't obvious

When you're signing up. After you enter your phone number, there's a small link saying "Have a Partner Code?". Click the arrow. A text box appears. Type **128979**.

People overlook it constantly because it's hidden.

Sometimes it shows as invalid, don't worry. Go ahead and register anyway. Message your account manager before you deposit. Tell them you want 128979 applied. They handle this regularly.

You can't withdraw the bonus straight away

There's a volume requirement.

Around 10,000 units per dollar of bonus. You'd need to trade 2,000,000 units to unlock a $200 bonus. Slower if you're trading micro lots. Active traders hit it quicker than expected.

Your deposit is yours. Withdraw it whenever you want. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.

Something useful to understand: while the bonus is locked, it still counts toward your margin. This lets you take bigger positions. For someone still learning, that buffer can keep you in the game long enough to figure things out.
